Privacy Policy — Money Meow: Expense Tracker

Money Meow: Expense Tracker ("Money Meow", "the app", "we", "us") is published by Celestial Insights. Money Meow is designed to be private by default: your financial data lives on your device, not on our servers. This policy explains what the app stores, the limited third-party services it uses, and the choices you have.

壱 Your financial data stays on your device

Everything you enter — accounts, balances, transactions, categories, account types, currencies and notes — is stored in a local SQLite database on your device. Money Meow is offline-first and has no user account or login. We do not receive, see, or store your financial data on any server we operate.

弐 Cloud backup (optional)

If you choose to enable cloud backup, the app copies your database to your own cloud storage — Apple iCloud on Apple devices, or Android's native Auto Backup on Android. This is your personal cloud account; the backup is governed by Apple's or Google's privacy terms, and we have no access to it. Cloud backup is off until you turn it on, and you can turn it off and remove the backup at any time.

参 Analytics & crash reporting

Money Meow uses Google Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics to understand how the app is used in aggregate and to diagnose crashes. This collects anonymous, app-level usage events and technical diagnostic data (such as device model, OS version, and crash logs). It does not include the contents of your transactions or balances.

肆 Advertising

The free version of Money Meow shows ads served by Google AdMob. AdMob may use your device's advertising identifier to deliver and measure ads, in line with Google's privacy policy. Our app-ads.txt file authorizes Google as a seller of our ad inventory. Purchasing the one-time premium unlock removes ads.

伍 In-app purchases

Money Meow offers a single one-time lifetime unlock (no subscriptions). Purchases and restores are handled entirely by the Apple App Store or Google Play. We receive confirmation of your purchase status but never receive your payment card or billing details.

陸 Data retention & deletion

You are always in control of your data:

Clear transactions and Clear all data in the app's settings remove your data on the spot.
Uninstalling Money Meow removes the local database from your device.
If you enabled cloud backup, you can delete the backup from your iCloud / Google account, or disable backup in the app to stop future copies.

漆 Children's privacy

Money Meow is a general-audience personal-finance app and is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your region). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

捌 Your rights

Because your financial data is stored locally and not on our servers, you can access, edit, export (via CSV), or delete it directly within the app at any time. 玖 Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of Money Meow after an update means you accept the revised policy.
